Movement direction for ‘Rope & Flame’ in Peebles
I recently spent three wonderful months in Peebles in the Scottish Borders serving as Movement Director on the play ‘Rope & Flame’, written by Anita John, Clare Prenton, and Vivien Read, and directed by Clare Prenton with Dragonfly Theatre Productions.
Working with a dedicated community cast of 35 performers, we brought to life a fictional reimagining of the Peebles witch trials of 1629. Through expressive physical storytelling, we explored the collective weight and tragedy of an era when hundreds were accused and executed.

Devising ‘Umbrellas and Stools’
In late October, I am collaborating once again with Clare Prenton to devise a playful and rapid-fire ‘PLAY IN A DAY’ experience. Reconnecting with the wonderful community cast of ‘Rope & Flame’, we are repurposing key props to craft something entirely fresh and dynamic.
Titled ‘Umbrellas and Stools’, this creative experiment celebrates the spontaneity of physical theatre, ensemble trust, and imaginative prop work. If you are keen to book onto future devising workshops, please get in touch.
Looking ahead: new musical ‘Butterflies’
Looking ahead to Autumn 2026, my movement direction work will take me to Dumfries and Galloway for an exciting development period of a new musical titled ‘Butterflies’, by Zoe Bestel and Clare Prenton from Dragonfly Productions.
This is a development produced by Genesis Theatre Productions, at Dumfries Theatre Royal.
